The Los Angeles Lakers after a stunning start to the season are struggling mightily. Injuries have ravaged the purple and gold season and have them on the precipice of potentially missing out on the playoffs.

The toll of winning the NBA championship last season has caught up to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Understandably, the Los Angeles Lakers don’t have the juice right now.

With the shortest offseason in NBA history, the superstars who carried the load for the purple and gold last year are simply running out of steam. It is of critical importance to get the necessary rest during the offseason so that your body is healed and fresh after such a grind.

The time spent in the Orlando bubble was physically and mentally draining for everyone but especially for those who made it late into the playoffs. They were given less time to recuperate and teams like the Lakers and Heat simply are running out of steam due to the lack of offseason.

If the Lakers can make the playoffs after all that has gone on with injuries and lack of time off, they need to make adjustments to maximize the product on the court, which will make the rest of the team better as a whole.

When healthy, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the best teams in the league, but can they stay healthy is the question.

Here is what the Los Angeles Lakers’ starting five should be to make a run at the NBA Championship.
