This week, Hulu announced plans for an untitled nine-part Los Angeles Lakers docuseries in the vein of Netflix and ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance‘.

The groundbreaking docuseries kept basketball fans appetized during the 2020 season’s COVID-19 hiatus and was universally lauded. As a result, basketball fans have already begun to draw comparisons between the two series.

With large shoes to fill, the Los Angeles Lakers docuseries can learn a lot from the success of ‘The Last Dance’.

From the information currently available, this new series will follow the era of the Lakers that began when the Buss family purchased the team in 1979.
