Los Angeles Lakers grades, the two new sixth men:

Dennis Schroder: B

Schroder of course was never going to lead the team in scoring. His job was to do much of what he did all year long as he was an overall contributor. He averaged 15.4 points per game, 5.8 assists, and shot 43%. Solid numbers for the veteran.

Yes I know, he rejected the Lakers’ offer halfway through the season. That of course did not look too good but I guess he just wants more money. Whatever the case may be, Schroder is a very valuable player. He is long and lanky and has played well when he is in the lineup.

His play will heavily affect the Lakers in the playoffs as they will need him to continue to do what he has been doing. Schroder has a great feel for the flow of the offense and can run both the fast and more up-tempo type or the slowed-down type as well.

Montrezl Harrell: A-

By far one of the most consistent and hard-working players in all of basketball as well as one of the best free-agent acquisitions. Harrell is beyond a hard worker and an ultimate scrapper. He has been one of the backbones of this team as he scored 13.5 points per game and grabbed 6.2 rebounds.

Most importantly is the edge that Harrell gives this team. An edge in which they needed. I didn’t like toward the end of the season where he wasn’t getting the time in certain games. Come the playoffs, Harrell will be vital as his hustle and heart will come into play big-time especially against other teams that have big men. We will need him to help dominate down low. I look forward to seeing him mixing it up with others and using his strength to dominate down low.
