Sunday’s loss was a tough one and was made worse by the loss of Anthony Davis as he strained his groin during the game. Had he would have been able to go, I am sure the Los Angeles Lakers would have pulled it out.

That, of course, did not happen as the Lakers lost 100-92 in Game 4 to the Phoenix Suns. The series is now tied 2-2 and moves back to the valley of the sun.

If you watched the Lakers’ first game against the Phoenix Suns you would have seen an Anthony Davis that didn’t quite look just right. If you watched the second game you would have seen a man possessed or in a zone as he totally transformed himself from one game to the next.

It was something quite epic. Sort of reminded me of Superman being called on to defend Metropolis from an enemy.

Everything Davis did in the second game was nothing short of amazing. He was all over the place on both sides of the floor. It was an amazing effort on his part as he was an unstoppable force for the Lakers that the Suns did not have an answer for all night long. 34 points, 10 rebounds 7 assists, and 3 blocked shots. Nothing short of amazing numbers.

His performance in both Game 2 and Game 3 just reminded Laker fans of what they already know and that is that Anthony Davis is one of the main cogs that make the Lakers go. The Lakers need the best Anthony Davis to repeat as NBA Champions.

Anthony Davis is arguably the most important player on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Davis is by far one of the most multi-talented players in the league and by far one of the most cerebral. He is highly intelligent and has a wonderful understanding of the game on both sides of the floor.

Having him at the power forward works out wonderful, especially when center Andre Drummond contributes like he did the other night. Davis can also play the center position which only makes him more dangerous.

At the end of the game the other night, Davis had a look in his eyes like a man who had been in war. There was something about the words he spoke in the post-game where he said how he didn’t need LeBron to get in his ear as he knows what he has to do.

Hearing that was a major statement. Davis also was man enough to admit how bad he played in the first game and how much he had to improve in order for them to be victorious.

Moving forward, one can only hope that this injury doesn’t hold him out of Game 6 and Game 7 (if there is one). Him being unlikely for Game 5 is a massive blow to the Los Angeles Lakers.
