The Los Angeles Lakers went to Phoenix looking to flip the narrative that they could not beat the Phoenix Suns without Anthony Davis on Tuesday. Instead, the purple and gold played right into the narrative and were absolutely outmatched against the Suns, falling 115-85.

And with that, I think it is safe to say that this series is over. Unless Anthony Davis defies modern science and can make a full recovery, the Lakers are doomed. While they could sneak a victory in Game 6 at home, there just is no way that the Lakers can beat the Suns twice in a row without Daivs.

If this was a close loss then that would be one thing. There would at least be some reason to think that it is possible. It was as far as you can get from a close loss and they did not earn the benefit of the doubt. The Lakers are likely done.

When it was all on the line in the most important game of the year to date the Lakers laid an absolute egg. That is extremely telling. Here is what we learned.
