Montrezl Harrell has a player option this offseason and it would be surprising if the big man did not use it after his season with the Los Angeles Lakers. While he became a fan-favorite because of his playstyle, Frank Vogel axed him from the playoff rotation, likely to do with his defense.

All signs are pointing to Harrell moving on from the Lakers and that is fine, it is a hole that the team can fill. If he sticks around then that will be fine too, but whether or not Harrell stays is not a massive priority.

He has not done much to increase his value by a lot and he very well could be another mid-level exception signing. Regardless, there will naturally be suitors that are interested in his skillset.

Potential teams that could lure Montrezl Harrell away from the Los Angeles Lakers:

1. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are one of the most entertaining teams in basketball. LaMelo Ball was the best rookie in the league last season and was far better than his critics were expecting and the team certainly has talent around him in the likes of Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward.

The Hornets do not have superstar money and they are not a massive free agency destination but they are an intriguing place to play for someone such as Harrell. Charlotte should be a playoff team next year and the notion of playing for Michael Jordan could be enough to push Harrell over the edge and sign with Charlotte.

Charlotte is going to need size as well as both Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo are free agents this offseason. While Harrell is not a perfect center, it is easy to fall in love with his athleticism and in the case of the Hornets, fall in love with the thought of Ball tossing up alley-oops to Trez.
