Los Angeles Lakers Rumors
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports – Los Angeles Lakers /

The Los Angeles Lakers have quite a few hurdles to overcome this offseason. Not only is the team coming off of a disappointing playoff loss, but the front office is dealing with a team that never gelled together last season and has several upcoming free agents.

Chances are that we are going to see a very similar offseason to last year, where Rob Pelinka had to replace existing pieces with other pieces. At the time, it all seemed like an upgrade. This time around, the team better hope they actually are upgrades.

While the Lakers’ hands are tied in terms of bringing in any big-name stars (except for a Kemba Walker trade, which makes a lot of sense), they still could bring in some players with all-star pedigree.

They may no longer be at their peaks, but there are several former all-stars the Los Angeles Lakers could bring in this offseason.

Getting all-star-caliber experience is big for a contending team like the Lakers, especially with LeBron James leading the team. Just look at last year’s title-winning team. The third-most important player on that team was arguably Rajon Rondo, a former all-star.

Who else was important to the team? Another former all-star in Dwight Howard, who ironically made the last basket of the season for the team; a three-pointer. How’s that for fun trivia?

Let’s get into the seven former all-stars that the Los Angeles Lakers could theoretically and realistically sign this offseason.
