1. Robin Lopez

Robin Lopez played with Anthony Davis all the way back in the forward’s rookie season with the then-New Orleans Hornets. Lopez has bounced around from team to team since then and finds himself as a free agent after a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to need to bring in depth at the center position this offseason. Andre Drummond is a free agent and is likely going to sign elsewhere, Montrezl Harrell has a player option that he will likely utilize and Devontae Cacok simply is not the long-term answer.

The team has Marc Gasol, but who knows what his future holds. Even if he sticks around, his role on the team should be minimal as that is when he is at his best.

Cheap, veteran center options are going to be on the table for the Lakers this offseason as they look to recreate what they had with Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee. Robin Lopez is a candidate to do so, as he certainly will be cheap and can offer that veteran center who simply is there to rim protect, rebound and catch the occasional lob.

Lopez has never been the best rebounder for the center position but if put in the right position, which he would be on the Lakers, the seven-footer is absolutely capable of producing what the Lakers would need out of the position.
