3. Matthew Hurt

Matthew Hurt is projected to be an early second-round pick and some things would have to happen for the Los Angeles Lakers to even be targeting him in the second round, hence why he is the third name on this list.

The main thing that would have to happen is a Kyle Kuzma trade. Hurt would be extremely redundant with Kuzma still on the roster and adding him to the team would essentially serve as a Kuzma replacement.

And quite frankly, Hurt might be better than Kuzma right out of the gate.

There are going to be some learning curves that Kuzma has already gone through, such as learning how to play with LeBron James. However, Hurt fits this team way better than Kuzma does and as we have covered here on Lake Show Life, a Kuzma trade is more likely than ever.

Hurt definitely needs to work on his defense but it is not like the Lakers would be losing much of a defender in Kuzma, anyway. What the team would be gaining is a great three-point shooter who can actually be an off-ball threat for LeBron James.

Kuzma is someone who tries to make plays happen and has been extremely disappointing as an off-ball shooter. Hurt is more than capable of being that catch and shoot stretch four, which is evident from his 44.4% three-point rate on 5.3 attempts per game.

He is a very efficient scorer and can score the same number of points as Kuzma in fewer attempts. The defense needs work, but the improvement offensively and in price is definitely worth it.
