1. JJ Redick

JJ Redick is coming off of an expensive two-year deal that he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans. Redick was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the middle of last season and his overall play on both teams lowered his value from a decent value to the minimum value.

Redick did take a step back last season and that might be worrisome for the Lakers. However, that is a good thing as it allows the Lakers to sign him for extremely cheap with the upside of him improving on a true title contender.

Redick’s role on the Lakers would be simple. He would be a veteran bench three-point shooter that the Lakers could put in some big offensive possessions. One of the biggest problems around the Lakers in the playoffs was that there was not a single person other than LeBron James that could be trusted to shoot a three.

Getting a savvy veteran like Redick, who has loads of playoff experience, would help solve that problem. Is he going to be out there 30 minutes a night? No, his overall offensive skill set is more limited now than before and he is not a great defender.

But getting a veteran sharpshooter off the bench is still very valuable, especially to the Lakers.
