Many people expected the Los Angeles Lakers to be one of the final four teams remaining in the NBA Playoffs but it was not meant to be. The Lakers could not escape the injury bug and were beaten three games in a row by a red-hot Phoenix Suns team.

The Lakers now enter the offseason with several unknowns regarding who is staying on the roster and who is going. One thing is for certain: the Lakers are going to bring in several new faces this offseason to replace some of the outgoing holes as well as improve the team.

Why not improve the team with players who are still playing for the NBA Championship? All four teams have legitimate title-contending role players that are helping the cause, all of which would help the Los Angeles Lakers’ cause.

Free agents that the Los Angeles Lakers could pursue from remaining playoff teams:

1. Torrey Craig, Phoenix Suns

To be completely transparent, there were not very many options on the Phoenix Suns and we did not want to leave Phoenix off this list. Torrey Craig is the best potential free agent (unless the Lakers do something super creative to somehow get Chris Paul in the offseason).

This is not to say that Craig is an awful player, he would just be someone who is at the backend of the bench and provides depth in the regular season while likely not making the playoff rotation.

But hey, who knows. Craig has come up when the Suns needed him to in the playoffs in his limited spots and that kind of experience is going to bode well for him. If he does not melt under the spotlight then he becomes valuable for a team like the Lakers.

Again, easily the least talented player on this list. Let’s get into the team that the Suns are playing, the Los Angeles Clippers.
