Los Angeles Lakers Rumors
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports – Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a disappointing first-round exit in the NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Phoenix Suns. While the injury bug is the main culprit for the Lakers’ early exit, it is safe to say that this roster was not as good as it looked on paper.

There were several reasons why. There were some disappointing seasons, such as Marc Gasol’s, as well as some pieces that simply did not fit with the superstars, such as Dennis Schroder. Most importantly, the team did not get much time to really gel.

This year’s Lakers were far different from last year’s team and the team never got the chance to gel and build the chemistry that last year’s team did. A big reason for that was the injury bug, as Anthony Davis missed most of the season while LeBron James missed a good chunk as well.

The Lakers simply did not know who they were, whereas a team like Phoenix knows exactly who they are.

Now, the Los Angeles Lakers are hoping for the best offseason possible.

I have written this a million times here at Lake Show Life but there is one philosophy that every contending team should have every offseason: if you are not getting better, you are getting worse. Some teams can afford to not make moves and “get worse” compared to the rest of the league, the Lakers are not one of those teams.

Rob Pelinka and co. certainly have their checklist this offseason that they are going to hope to accomplish. They definitely are not going to get every player they want this offseason.

But what if they could? While we don’t have insight on the Lakers’ priorities this offseason, we can take a crack at it and pitch our dream Lakers offseason, for you the reader to disect.

Let’s get into it, shall we?
