Los Angeles Lakers: 30 greatest individual performances in team history: 26. Andrew Bynum crashes the glass hard

When you place your name next to Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Elgin Baylor and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – you’re doing something right.

Before Andrew Bynum’s body completely fell apart, he was well on his way to becoming one of the best big men in Lakers history. He always flashed promise but during the 2011-2012 season, he was really starting to put it all together as he averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and made his lone All-Star appearance.

To prove how special his talent was, Bynum had the best game of his career during a meeting with the San Antonio Spurs in mid-April 2012. Bynum scored 16 points, blocked two shots and grabbed an outrageous 30 rebounds. Bynum’s 30 boards are tied for the sixth most all-time in the past 35 plus years.

Despite playing against Tim Duncan, Bynum not only outrebounded him 30 to 5, but he almost outrebounded the entire Spurs team 30 to 33. It was nights such as these that left Laker fans wondering what could’ve been if he were merely healthy longer.
