The Los Angeles Lakers are tasked with the goal of improving the roster this offseason without having as many options to do so. There is no superstar trade possible or that much cap space to add another big-name role player.

This is the issue that every contending team has to deal with. As a result, the Lakers will undoubtedly get creative with the team’s Bird Rights, the use of the mid-level exception, minimum contracts, and the possible sign-and-trade.

The benefit that the Lakers have, as do other top-tier contending teams, is that they can lure solid role players to Los Angeles just because they are a contending team. Any role player who is close to being minimum value will likely sign a minimum deal with a contending team, like the Lakers, to get that lucrative championship ring.

Ring chasers are one of the biggest things the Lakers are going to capitalize on this summer. It helped the team tremendously when they went and got Dwight Howard and could help the team again, getting an impact player who simply wants to win.

There are 5 ring chasers that the Los Angeles Lakers should pursue in free agency.

The Lakers obviously are not going to sign all of these players as they crossover by position and fit on the team. However, it is safe to say that the team has some options in this department and even landing two of these five would be a big win.
