The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot to accomplish this offseason. Based on how the roster is currently constructed, the two positions that the Lakers are going to need to work the most on are the point guard position and the center position.

Dennis Schroder, who started at the point last season for the Lakers, is an unrestricted free agent and is asking for way too much money. Schroder reportedly is asking for a contract in the range of $100-120 million. It would be shocking if any team gave him that money, but the Lakers certainly shouldn’t.

Alex Caruso and Talen Horton-Tucker are also free agents as well. While the team will likely bring this duo back, anything can happen, especially for Caruso. As an unrestricted free agent, Caruso has the power to walk if he so chooses.

Chances are the Lakers will be adding a point guard in free agency and while there are some solid options available, there are also some options that the team should steer clear from.

The Los Angeles Lakers should avoid three free-agent point guards in particular.

Now, there are obviously more than three free-agent point guards that the Lakers won’t be interested in. We are not including the bottom-tier free agents that the Lakers would not consider anyway.

All three of these points guards will have legitimate markets in free agency and the Lakers should not be a part of said market.
