The Los Angeles Lakers are going to make some type of splashes this offseason as the team looks to rebound after falling short in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. While the team is limited, there are avenues that Rob Pelinka can explore.

One potential avenue is a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers for Collin Sexton. The Cavaliers are reportedly open to trading Sexton as it is unlikely that they will offer him the max rookie extension. Without said extension, Sexton has just one more season under contract until he is a restricted free agent.

The Lakers and Cavaliers have been trade partners in the recent past and there are initial reports that the Lakers are among the teams interested in Sexton.

As with any potential trade, there are reasons why the Lakers should take the risk and go after Sexton as well as reasons against making that move. This potential trade is so compelling that we decided to break down all of the potential pros and cons of a Sexton deal.

Hopefully, this article can serve as a resource and break down the situation enough for every Laker fan to decide for themselves whether or not they want to see Rob Pelinka pull off a trade for Collin Sexton.

Let’s start on a positive note.
