1. San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs would be the best situation for Kyle Kuzma to find himself in next season. If there is one team that can get him close to being the all-star that he thinks he is then it is going to be the Spurs.

The first reason is obviously Gregg Popovich. Popovich isn’t just one of the best coaches in the NBA today but is one of the best coaches of all time. Even when he hangs up it, the Spurs are in great hands with Becky Hammon likely taking over the team.

It is more than just coaching, though. The Spurs do not have a legitimate number one scoring option and Kuzma can come in and try and be that guy. Not only will he be coached up to a new level but will be given the chance to rack up the stats.

A trade could happen between the two sides as well. While the Spurs and Lakers are rivals, they can help each other via DeMar DeRozan. If the Lakers view DeRozan as a third star and he wants to be in LA he can leverage a sign-and-trade deal with San Antonio. The Spurs, of course, should pull the trigger as it makes more sense to get something for him rather than nothing.

Gregg Popovich has been complimentary of Kuzma in the past during their days together with USA Basketball so there could be some intrigue there for San Antonio.
