2. Corey Kispert

Corey Kispert is perhaps the best pure shooter in this draft class, he shot over 43% from three-point range in his last two seasons in college. He ranked seventh in the nation in total 3-point field goals made last season while averaging 18.6 points per game for a team that reached the national championship game.

If Kispert somehow does fall all the way to the Lakers, they should run to the podium to select him because he played four years in college for an elite program and has the experience to come in and contribute right away and hit 3-point jump shots.

He did mention that the Lakers have interviewed him during the pre-draft process, but if they do want to select him they would probably have to make a trade to move up into the lottery. They will more than likely stay in their draft position and wait to see if he falls to them because he might not have as high of a ceiling as younger prospects than him there is a slight possibility that could happen.

However, some mock drafts have him going inside the top 10 of the draft, so this pick might be a pipe dream for the Lakers. With shooting becoming more of a commodity in the NBA he will likely be a lottery pick because he has the strength and size to defend on the wing as well.

Built in the mold of a Joe Harris type of player, Kispert could develop into one of the better 3-point marksmen in the NBA, and that is something the Lakers have lacked for quite some time. The unlikelihood of them being able to take him is what gives him the number two spot on the list and not number one.
