2. Andre Iguodala

Andre Iguodala is also an upcoming free agent for the Miami Heat, although it is not a guarantee that he is a free agent like Ariza. Iguodala has a club option for next season in his contract and while that could lead to the Heat bringing him back, it would be very surprising if they did so.

Iguodala would make $15 million next season and while he still has value as a role player off the bench, he simply is not worth that money. The Heat have the leverage to include his contract in any trades because of the option but if no team is asking for Iguodala then it makes no sense for Miami to bring him back at that price point.

Pelinka represented Iguodala when he came into the league and the three-time champion has not been shy in voicing his opinions on Pelinka. Iguodala explained back in 2019 why he trusts and respects Pelinka so much, which bodes very well for any potential contract talks.

At this point in his career Iguodala is going to get the same offer from every single team: a veteran’s minimum contract. With every team on a level playing field financially, the Lakers may have the ultimate advantage as a contender with someone running the show that Iguodala is familiar with.
