The Los Angeles Lakers have the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and it is one of several assets that the team has to utilize this offseason. Rob Pelinka and the front office are undoubtedly looking to improve the team after the early exit this season and the draft is part of that discussion.

In a perfect world the pick would be slightly higher so the team could have a shot at drafting Gonzaga’s Corey Kispert. Kispert is the textbook definition of a three and D prospect and would instantly help the Lakers’ cause while also being someone with potential that could get better.

Kispert may not have the high ceiling of a top lottery pick but he is a perfect example of a surefire rotation player. The Lakers need someone that can help the team next year and beyond. Kispert is exactly that and gives the team exactly what it needs.

Kispert is projected to go in the 14-17 range, so if the Los Angeles Lakers wanted to add him they would have to make some sort of trade in the draft.

Luckily, there are two trades that could lead to Corey Kispert AND a third star on the Los Angeles Lakers.

It sounds too good to be true but there is some risk involved. These players are available for a reason and trading for either of them would come with its own baggage. However, with the title window not being huge in LA, we could see a bold move.

Here are two trades that would not only lead to Corey Kispert but also a third star on the Los Angeles Lakers.
