The Los Angeles Lakers are going to have a busy offseason. Not only is the team going to look to improve after losing in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, but the Lakers also have nearly an entire roster full of players whose futures are up in the air.
The Lakers have 11 potential free agents this offseason. You read that correctly. 11. That is more than an entire rotation of players. Of those 11, one has a player option (Montrezl Harrell, who will likely opt-out), three are restricted (Talen Horton-Tucker, Devontae Cacok, Kostas Antetokounmpo) and seven unrestricted (Alex Caruso, Dennis Schroder, Wesley Matthews, Markieff Morris, Andre Drummond, Ben McLemore, Jared Dudley).
We already broke down the percentage chances of each player on the 2020-21 roster returning to the team next season. Today, we predict where exactly each of these free agents will sign.
The free agents that don’t really matter to the Los Angeles Lakers:
To be completely honest, there are four free agents that do not really matter either way and it is hard to gauge as they are not that valuable in the league. One of which we already know is going to be out of the NBA.
Those four are Jared Dudley, Ben McLemore, Devontae Cacok and Kostas Antetokounmpo. Kostas signed a two-year deal with French team LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, so he is gone. Chances are that Dudley and Cacok return on minimum deals but won’t play a role anyways. McLemore will go to whichever team actually offers him.
We could predict where those three are going but it is really a crapshoot and let’s be honest, they are not going to make a difference either way. So let’s get into the ones that do make a difference.
