Los Angeles Lakers: 3 picks from the 2010s we wish would have worked
By Zane Harris
The 2010s were a roller coaster of a decade for the Los Angeles Lakers.
They went from NBA Champions in 2010 to being one of the worst teams in the league later in the decade. Along with this, fans had to watch Kobe Bryant go from NBA champion to eventual retiree.
After Bryant could no longer carry the franchise, the Lakers were forced into a multiyear rebuild that netted them multiple lottery picks and young talent.
There is a chance that the Lakers would have still been in this rebuild to this day if they were not able to convince LeBron James to join the team in the 2018 offseason.
However, once James joined the roster, it launched the franchise from rebuilding to win now immediately. As a result of this, they traded a lot of the young talent they had accumulated during their rebuild for superstar Anthony Davis.
The duo of James and Davis was enough for the Lakers to begin the 2020s as NBA champions.
There is a chance that the two will be able to bring multiple rings back to Los Angeles before they ae done. However, with the draft coming up on July 29th, it is a perfect time to look back at some of the picks from the 2010s that we wish would have worked out.
The Los Angeles Lakers likely wish these picks panned out differently.
This list goes in chronological order, meaning there are no rankings.
