What a wonderful past two days it has been for the Los Angeles Lakers. We have seen the Los Angeles Lakers make moves that have shaken the basketball world.

There was the monster trade for Russell Westbrook followed by the signing of Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, Wayne Ellington,  and Kent Bazemore.

Suddenly, the Laker roster looks so different and so much better. That being said, there are still a few free agents that the Lakers could possibly sign in the next few days that have a connection with the team.

Remaining free agents with connections to the Los Angeles Lakers:

Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley had a short run as a Laker. A solid all-around and cerebral player who has many years of experience in the NBA. Bradley is a defensive player who can lock down opposing players. He has experience as a starter or can come off the bench and provide support.

One of the many good things about him is where he is in his career which is also good for the Lakers. I think he would want to be part of a winning team especially after this past season which saw him split time in both Miami and Houston which could not have been easy for him.

Bradley, of course, opted out when basketball came back during the Covid outbreak as he was part of the Lakers then. Why not give it another try? Especially with the moves the team has made in these past few days and the direction in which they seem to be headed.

The Lakers could use another player that has the defensive ability that Bradley brings to the table. They were one of the top defensive teams in the league last season. Things did break down along the way as injuries destroyed them last year and they had some breakdowns on the defensive side of the ball in players such as KCP, Kyle Kuzma, Wesley Matthews and Andre Drummond.

Hopefully, with a player such as Bradley, they can improve their defensive ability even more and be a bigger threat to the NBA.
