Los Angeles Lakers: 2 pros and 1 con of signing James Ennis
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Lakers currently have 12 players signed to the roster with three roster spots up for grabs. Chances are that the team keeps one roster spot open for a buyout player during the year so the Lakers effectively have two more spots to give out.
We are just assuming that Jared Dudley is going to fill one of those spots, although it is interesting that he has not yet been signed. He is literally just a locker room presence at this point, so it is interesting that they would wait his long.
Perhaps the Lakers are eyeing two players instead of one in free agency. That is definitely a possibility.
One player that the Lakers are reportedly mulling over is James Ennis. NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Ennis is one of several players that the Lakers are considering in free agency. Isaiah Thomas, who I don’t think the Lakers should sign, is another.
James Ennis would be an interesting signing for the Los Angeles Lakers at this point in free agency.
Just like most free agents signed at this point in time, there are pros and cons of the Lakers inking a deal with James Ennis. However, compared to other available options, Ennis is a particularly interesting candidate.
There are two notable pros and one notable con that would be attached to an Ennis signing. Let’s break them down.
