Los Angeles Lakers: 5 minimum signings that would’ve been perfect in LA
By Jason Reed
4. Andre Iguodala
Two players into this list and we have already touched on two players that have signed with the Golden State Warriors. However, unlike Bjelica, there was legitimate reports that the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in Andre Iguodala.
The Lakers were reportedly one of the final three teams that Iguodala was choosing between before deciding to return back where he won three championships in Golden State. The Lakers have not made a signing since.
Iguodala would have added to the veteran presence on this team and his role probably would not have been that large in the regular season. That would be by design as he would be saving the miles on his legs for when they really matter in the postseason.
Iguodala is one of the most experienced players in the league and he absolutely would have given the Lakers a positive rotation player. His three-point shot might not be as great as other players on this list but he definitely can hit a big shot in a big moment.
More importantly, Iguodala is still a sound defender at his age and would have given the Lakers a really good defensive option. The trio of Iguodala, LeBron James and Anthony Davis would have given other teams problems in crunch time.
But alas, it was not meant to be and the Lakers are still searching for the best-case scenario for their final three roster spots.
