Bismack Biyombo

Bismack Biyombo is not a fantastic option for the Los Angeles Lakers but that is the status of the market right now. There are not many quality big men available and Biyombo is among the best of the rest, even if he is not that great.

Biyombo at least has put together a solid career and has racked up meaningful minutes. Not many other center options at this point can say that, so at least the Lakers get someone who is experienced in this league.

The former seventh-overall pick has spent a decade in the league, nearly playing 800 career games. He has started 307 of those games.

Biyombo is similar to Montrezl Harrell but is less ferocious. Perhaps that would make it easier for the Lakers to integrate him into the rotation, but that obviously is not the ideal thing the team is looking for.

He is small for a center, six-foot-eight, is an average rebounder for a center (at best) and is nothing special defensively, albeit he is not a nuisance defensively like Harrell.

He isn’t this rim-running center and he isn’t someone who stretches the floor, either. He has a weird skillset for today’s NBA, hence why he is still available.
