3. The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be very well-conditioned

This is something that hurt the Los Angeles Lakers last season. The team was coming off of the shortest offseason in American Sports history and it showed. While LeBron James’ injury was more of a fluke accident, I absolutely do believe that Davis’ injury was a result of the short layoff.

This will be an area of strength for the Los Angeles Lakers this season and most NBA pundits would strongly disagree. Why? It is an easy thing to say. The Lakers are old and therefore they are going to gas out late in the playoffs because of their age.

The thing that most NBA pundits who have that opinion are overlooking is the depth of the Lakers. Sure, the team is old, but it is so deep that every single member of the rotation, from the absolute top to the bottom, is going to be able to play fewer minutes than they otherwise would.

There is not a single player on this roster that is there for mere depth purposes. There is not a single Jared Dudley, Alfonzo McKinnie or Quinn Cook. Every single player is a legitimate rotation player and the Lakers are going to be able to utilize that and can legitimately run a 14-deep rotation, stay fresh and still win a lot of games.

Being able to spread the playing time around in this manner is going to be huge for the playoffs. So while they might be older than a team like Brooklyn, they should be more rested than them because of the depth.

Sure, the playoff rotation will shrink and the stars will have to play more but that is why they ramp it up during the last few weeks of the regular season to truly determine who is in the playoff rotation and who isn’t.
