DeAndre Jordan joining the Los Angeles Lakers now seems to be inevitable. There was speculation around Jordan potentially joining the Lakers when it was reported that he likely would not make it to training camp with the Brooklyn Nets and that speculation has grown substantially.

Jordan was traded to the Detroit Pistons, who got four second-round picks for taking him on, on Friday and was subsequently bought out. Jordan reportedly intends to sign with the Lakers once he clears waivers.

We broke down over a week ago why Jordan to the Lakers would be a lock if he was bought out. Now, it is a reality.

While Jordan is not the same player that he was five years ago he still brings value to the Lakers. He not only brings depth to the Lakers’ frontcourt as a contingency plan for Marc Gasol, but he also makes life easier for several players on the Lakers.

There are two players on the Los Angeles Lakers, in particular, who will benefit from adding DeAndre Jordan.

We could be basic and write about how Jordan makes life easier for Dwight Howard and Marc Gasol, but that is rather obvious since they play the same position. There are two players at a different position who are going to benefit from the adding depth of Jordan at the center position.
