3. Malik Monk

Malik Monk was jacking up plenty of threes even before he was making them at an efficient rate with the Charlotte Hornets. For the first three years of his career, Monk was an inefficient bench scorer that did not really seem to add much to winning basketball.

However, he flipped the script last season with Charlotte and was playing the best basketball of his young career. This is a recent lottery pick we are talking about and Monk was finally putting it together and looked primed to become one of the league’s microwave bench shooters.

Then he got hurt and that, mixed with the slow start to his career, hurt his value. Monk signed for the minimum (although he likely could have gotten more) and is primed for a big role on a contending team.

I expect Monk to get similar playing time to Nunn but to make and take threes at a much higher rate. While Nunn is a good shooter, Monk did shoot over 40% from three last season and there is a chance that he earns LeBron’s trust early and becomes the go-to three-point shooter off the bench.

That is why he is ranked third on this list. The two players ahead of him are both starters and if Monk got more than the 22-24 minutes he will likely get then he could have threatened for no. 1. We are projected him to finish with 150 threes made.
