The Los Angeles Lakers are the most prestigious team in the league and that prestige makes them a landing spot for so many players. There is a reason why Rob Pelinka was able to fill out the roster with minimum signings after trading for Russell Westbrook.

There have been a lot of rotating pieces in LA over the last few seasons and it can be hard to lose track of all the players that have donned the purple and gold.

Today, we decided to look at those that you may have forgotten about.

5 recent Los Angeles Lakers that you may have completely forgotten about:

Damian Jones – 8 games in 2020-21

Damian Jones had a short stint with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2020-21 season as he was a 10-day contract signing by the Lakers. Jones had some brief flashes of potential with the Lakers during those eight games and many fans wanted the team to keep Jones around.

Ultimately it was not meant to be as Jones was not offered a contract and instead went and played 17 games with the Sacramento Kings. Jones went from being a young player with potential that fans were surprised by to someone who most fans completely forgot about.

He is not as big of a name as some of the other players on this list but the change in discourse from being someone with “a lot of potential” to being a complete afterthought is a funny example of some of the bias we fans can have when a player is on our favorite team vs. when he signs with another team.

Jones signed a two-year deal with the Kings and has one more season under contract.
