Los Angeles Lakers: 3 players we’re most excited to see vs. Brooklyn Nets
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Lakers are finally back in action on Sunday as they open preseason play against the Brooklyn Nets. There is still a long way to go until meaningful basketball and we will not see the usual Lakers in the preseason, but it is still exciting nonetheless.
The training camp roster is 20 players and there are naturally going to be players who play most of this game that are not even going to make the roster. However, there are players that will make the roster and are going to be exciting to watch.
Three Los Angeles Lakers we are excited to watch vs. Brooklyn Nets
1. Austin Reaves
The newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers, undrafted rookie Austin Reaves, is nicknamed Hillbilly Kobe, so you know that we are excited to see him play. The reality of the situation is that Reaves is not going to have much of an impact on the team this year but he has all of the makings of being another Lakers’ hidden gem.
While Reaves’ three-point shot needs work his ability to create his own shot at the college level was really high level. He is also an extremely high-motor player who hustles on every single play. Preseason games can be lethargic, so that will be a welcome sign.
It would not be surprising whatsoever if Reaves ends up being the main standout on the Lakers in all of the preseason. If so, it will start with a strong game against the Nets to open the preseason.
