The Los Angeles Lakers find themselves winless after losing their first three games of the preseason. After falling behind by 20 points in each of the previous games, the Lakers were looking to get some type of cohesion offensively. Another game…another blowout.

These post-game reports are getting quite unpopular on social media these days. Lake Show Life is starting to challenge the Los Angeles Lakers minted as the 18 time World Champions in October narratives that other media outlets have spoon-fed Lakers Nation.

While in actuality, the Lakers have started a trend this preseason. In every preseason game, they have fallen behind by 20 points at one point in each game. If it wasn’t for a spirited effort in the 4th quarter by Rajon Rondo, Talen Horton-Tucker and Dwight Howard in the Golden State game, the Lakers would have been blown out in each game.

Well THT didn’t play and Rondo and Howard didn’t repeat their performances in a 123-94 blowout to the Phoenix Suns … again.

But the stars need to play together right?

The good from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

Anthony Davis put in that work for the Los Angeles Lakers!

Can somebody check on Landry Shamet and see if he’s okay…

The Los Angeles Lakers need this type of dominance from Anthony Davis to have a chance at winning the NBA title. Period. Not only did he fill up the box score with 19 points (5-12 shooting!), 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and a block, but he bothered Suns center Deandre Ayton early. As he continues to get used to his newfound bulk, he needs to keep improving his free throw shooting. He shot 8-11 from the line. If he can get to 85 percent or better, AD is unstoppable.

Olympic Melo showed up!

Let’s put this in perspective folks. After three quarters the Los Angeles Lakers were down 88-64. We’ve already discussed AD’s exploits. How about Carmelo Anthony scoring 17 points in 16 minutes in three quarters. This is why Melo was signed to the Lakers. He gets buckets. He knocked down five 3 point shots in seven attempts including this one on the break.

The bad from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

Russell Westbrook and these turnovers!

Lake Show Life gave Russell Westbrook the business with his first preseason performance. Two points and six turnovers. Well, Russ scored more, (Like he only scored two points!) but his turnover issues are getting worse. he had 8 turnovers by the middle of the third quarter. At last report, this is the starting point guard while LeBron James moves to the power forward position. If Westbrook keeps this up, he will be working the wing waiting for corner 3 point shots.

Let’s see here (Checking notes…), Russell Westbrook had 8 points (3-12 shooting!), 5 assists and NINE TURNOVERS! Somebody might want to pass on to Russ that Lakers fans turn on players quickly. Lake Show Life just points out observations and if he keeps this up, look for the empty, unrealistic Ben Simmons rumors to start.

LeBron James didn’t play!

A few years ago LeBron skipped a game against the Golden State Warriors because he had to be in a music studio as an A&R for 2 Chainz’s Rap Or Go to the League album. Well, the Lakers got blown out. Sure this is the preseason, but really?

Just be ready for opening night LeBron…there will be a whole lot of Lakers fans making excuses for you watching the Browns play and not even playing 15 minutes a few hours later!

Malik Monk and Talen Horton-Tucker did not play because of injuries!

Malik Monk did not suit up because of a right groin strain and Talen Horton-Tucker stayed out to rest a right thumb sprain. This opened up minutes for Carmelo Anthony and Kent Bazemore to shine, but mark these words, these young guys are the real deal and the Lakers will need them this season.

The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

The Los Angeles Lakers look disinterested and it shows on perimeter defense!

Lake Show Life does not hide, we keep it real around here. The Los Angeles Lakers stink on defense. Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis and DeAndre Jordan will not matter because the guards and wings can’t stop anybody. Seriously.

  • Landry Shamet had 8 points in the first five minutes…finished with 13 points including a buzzer-beater at halftime.
  • Chris Paul had a light workout carving up the Lakers’ interior defense with 15 points on 7-11 shooting. He added 5 assists too.
  • Abdel Nader is not the greatest scorer in the NBA but he collected 8 points in 13 minutes on 3-4 shooting.
  • Cam Johnson had 9 points (4-7 shooting!) in 17 minutes.
  • Cam Payne shot poorly at 4-15, but he had 7 assists.

When all of these guys sat down, the back of the Phoenix bench came in and did work!

  • Elfrid Payton did not miss any of his three shots…
  • Chasson Randle hit all of his three shots!

The Lakers have allowed open shots like this all preseason long.

Players dying on screens, no rotations, no hands up to contest. This is not it.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 0-4.
