Well, the Los Angeles Lakers didn’t get their first preseason win on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center. The Big Three made their debut, but it wasn’t enough as the Lakers fell to the Warriors, 111-99. Golden State will be back in Los Angeles on Oct. 19 for the start of the 2021-22 regular season.

The Lakers lost to the Warriors on Friday in San Francisco and again on Tuesday at home. Golden State hasn’t lost a preseason game while Los Angeles hasn’t won a preseason game. The game was at least more competitive than the team’s previous four losses, though.

It’s just the preseason, but the regular season is right around the corner. It’s time for the Lakers to kick it into high gear. It’s a long 82-game season, but now’s the time to work out the kinks. The purple and gold have one final chance to win an exhibition game on Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.

Los Angeles lost a lot of valuable players during the offseason but added a number of new pieces. Not to mention, the Lakers are already plagued by injuries. This time of the year is vital because it gives the players on the team a chance to build chemistry on the court.

There was one stud and one dud for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Golden State Warriors.

Yes, the preseason is wrapping up, but it’s still far too early to condemn Los Angeles. The odds were in the Lakers’ favor on Tuesday with LeBron James taking the court at the same time as Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, but that didn’t affect the outcome of the game.

With it being the final week before the regular season, these games can become a bit more telling. You can’t count out any team at this point in the year, but Los Angeles has plenty that needs to be worked on.

It’s hard to believe that the Lakers won’t sit atop the Western Conference at the end of the season, but their lineup is a work in progress. That was expected, so there’s no need to fret right now. Here’s the one stud and the one dud from Los Angeles’ preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors.
