The Los Angeles Lakers will officially debut their new-look lineup on opening night of the 2021-22 NBA season at Staples Center on Tuesday. Los Angeles will take on Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers lost to the Warriors twice during the preseason while Golden State won all five of its exhibition games. That doesn’t matter now because the true test is finally here.

The “it’s just the preseason” excuse for Los Angeles dropping all of its six preseason games is no longer applicable. A win or a loss in the first game of the regular season doesn’t mean that the Lakers will or won’t sit stop of the Western Conference standings at the end of the year, but it’ll still be a good indication as to who Los Angeles truly is.

The Warriors haven’t forgotten that the Lakers are who kept them out of the postseason last year, so it’s going to be a tough battle for the purple and gold right out of the gate. It’s game one of an 82-game season and there’s plenty of reason to celebrate. If you do decide to bet on tonight’s Lakers-Warriors game, Lake Show Life is here to assist you.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Warriors odds, spread and over/under

According to WynnBET, the Los Angeles Lakers are the four-point favorites. Los Angeles enters tonight’s game as the -165 moneyline favorites while Golden State is the +145 moneyline underdogs. The over/under for the game is set at 228.5 points.

The odds point towards the Lakers securing their first win at home to kickstart the regular season. It won’t be easy, though. Los Angeles’ defense in the preseason was horrendous and Curry is going to have an absolute field day if that similar type of play carries over to tonight’s matchup. Still, the Lakers have the upper hand and need to use it to their advantage.

Lakers vs. Warriors prediction:

If I were going to bet on the game, I’d say that Los Angeles is going to open up the regular season with a loss. Don’t come after me just yet. The Lakers didn’t exactly impress over the last few weeks and I know that necessarily doesn’t mean much, but I truly believe that Los Angeles is the better team. The Lakers have been hit with injuries, so expecting the purple and gold to come out with a win against a young, fast-paced team is asking for too much right now.

I’m taking Golden State +4 and over 228.5 points with a final score prediction of Warriors 125, Lakers 113.
