The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the team’s first back-to-back of the season. The Lakers were able to eliminate the early-season losing record with an overtime win over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.

LeBron James sat out in that game with a sore ankle and will sit out for the second straight night against the Thunder. It is still unclear what Anthony Davis’ status is after banging up his knee towards the end of the Spurs game, although he continued to play on it in overtime.

The Lakers not only beat the Spurs on Tuesday but overtime helped the team cover the spread as well. The Lakers were 2.5-point favorites in the contest and wound up winning by four in overtime. Hopefully, it won’t take overtime to beat the 0-4 Thunder.

Lakers vs Thunder odds, spread, over/under:

According to WynnBET, the Los Angeles Lakers are four-point favorites against the Thunder on Wednesday night. LA enters the game as -180 moneyline favorites while Thunder are +160 underdogs. The over/under for the game has been set at 215 points.

Four points might seem like a minuscule line against a team whose closest game this season was a four-point loss. While the full-strength Lakers can make easy work of the Thunder, not having James (as well as several rotation players) makes a world of difference.

So how does that impact our Lakers vs Thunder prediction?

Lakers vs Thunder prediction:

Let me preface this by saying that I would not bet on this game personally. While I give my prediction for each game, this is the definition of a stay away. If you really want to bet the Lakers on WynnBET, put the moneyline in a two-leg moneyline parlay with another team you like.

This Lakers team is yet to win in deciding fashion and this Thunder team is yet to win or even play a close game. Something has to break and with the Lakers being banged up and playing a back-to-back after an overtime win, you could make the case that this is a prime opportunity for OKC.

OKC is also playing in a back-to-back, which evens the playing field. With that equalizer and the way the Thunder have been playing this season, I lean towards the Lakers.

My official pick for this ballgame is Lakers -4 and over 215 points. The Lakers’ defense is shoddy and the offense should score a decent number of points with Westbrook going off in front of his former hometown crowd.

Final score prediction: Los Angeles Lakers 115, Oklahoma City Thunder 108.
