2. Patrick Beverley

The Los Angeles Lakers have not even seen all of the point guards on the roster play yet this season. Kendrick Nunn is yet to make his Laker debut and there is even some potential for Talen Horton-Tucker to operate as the point guard off the bench if needed.

While the Lakers are deep in bodies at the position, they are not deep defensively. The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the best defensive teams in the league and after losing several key defensive players they are now mediocre.

The team would benefit from getting a defensive-minded wing and that is not Patrick Beverley. However, the defensive impact he would have on the perimeter would be huge for this Lakers team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are not going anywhere this season and there is a good chance that by midseason Beverley wants out. At only $13 million, there absolutely is a chance that the Timberwolves can work out a trade.

The Lakers definitely won’t be able to trade for Beverley, hence why they should hope that the market is not to Minnesota’s standards and they instead save some money with a buyout.
