The Los Angeles Lakers host the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night in what is arguably the most compelling matchup of the entire day. The Lakers are obviously a must-watch as they are as star-studded as it comes while the Hornets are one of the most entertaining young teams in the league.

The combined records from the two teams might not be all that great (Lakers are 5-5, Hornets are 5-6) but this is still going to be a fun one to watch. LeBron James is not playing for LA but LaMelo Ball is playing for Charlotte.

The Lakers are coming off of a loss against the Portland Trail Blazers that we correctly predicted against the spread. Can we make it two in a row with tonight’s matchup against Michael Jordan’s team?

Los Angeles Lakers vs Hornets odds, spread, over/under:

According to WynnBet, the Lakers are 2.5-point favorites at home against the Hornets on Monday night. LA is a -135 moneyline favorite while the Hornets are a +135 moneyline underdog. The over/under for the game has been placed at 227.5 points.

One important thing to note is the fact that the Hornets are in the second leg of a back-to-back. The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 120-106 on Sunday. So the Hornets did not have to travel for the back-to-back but they are still playing on back-to-back days.

That absolutely has an impact on the line and perhaps our prediction as well.

Lakers vs Hornets prediction:

This might seem pessimistic but it is hard for me to pick the Lakers against any team that isn’t one of the worst in the league right now. LeBron James is not playing and the rotation is really beaten up with four rotation players still yet to make their debut.

The team is missing its best player, is still trying to figure out the place of another star (Russell Westbrook) and is extremely thin. That has all the makings of disappointment, which has been the case thus far this season.

I feel gross for picking it but I have to go with Charlotte +2.5 and the over. It should be a high-scoring game and hopefully, the Lakers can win the game but only by 1-2 points so I can be happy and be right.

Lakers vs Hornets TV channel:

Despite the potential intrigue, this is not a nationally televised game. In-market fans can watch the game on Spectrum SportsNet.

Los Angeles Lakers schedule and upcoming games:

The Lakers do have a nationally televised game coming up as they host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night on ESPN. Following that game the Lakers have three more games in the homestand, taking on the Timberwolves, Spurs and Bulls.

The Lakers then hit the road and have to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on November 17. That kicks off a five-game road trip for the purple and gold.
