Lakers get “Greek Freaked” by the Bucks: The good, bad and story
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers started their extended five-game road trip by hanging out with the World Champion Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo. These last two NBA champions have the same problem. Their rosters have been decimated with absences from major rotation players. Whether it be by injury (Lakers) or NBA’s Health and Safety protocols (Bucks), both teams have underachieved coming out of the gate.
ESPN was going to make sure there was plenty of marketing hype going into this one. Please take time to listen to the video below on how this was about which player was better…Giannis or AD.
After this game, that question was answered defiantly.
The Los Angeles Lakers now have lost two straight dropping this one to the Milwaukee Bucks 109-102. This loss drops them to .500 with LeBron James scheduled to return to the lineup on Friday against their long-time rivals, the Boston Celtics.
Allegedly.
The good from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
Talen Horton-Tucker is the third star for the Los Angeles Lakers!
If his teammates actually played with the fire of THT they would be at the top of the Western Conference. This writer would take this team seriously for championship contention and would co-sign that this team would make the NBA Finals. He is right now the only player that plays like he understands what it takes to become a title contender and then show up every night to prove it.
To all of the readers that consistently believe that Rob Pelinka should be fired, Lake Show Life would like you to read something…
Rob Pelinka locked this guy up for $20 million over two years. Anyone know a GM to pull off a steal like that? We’ll wait.
The Los Angeles Lakers who are notoriously bad in the third quarter outscored the Milwaukee Bucks 30-21 in the third quarter. One of the main reasons is that THT sparked the team with energy that has been missing basically all season long. He’s so good right now playing the right way, his play vindicates Lake Show Life consistent criticisms of the Lakers’ listless play.
THT finished with a team-high 25 points, 12 rebounds (4 offensive!), 3 assists and 2 steals. Basically, he’s doing right now what “Russ Apologists” tell everyone to wait for until…whenever.
The Lakers could have mailed this in after a bad second quarter…but didn’t.
This team looked soft as the Bucks frontline ran roughshod over the Lakers (Much more on that later!) in the first half, but they really competed in the second half. They just ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. This is yet another game where the Lakers just did not put it all together for a win, but Lakers Nation should take solace in the fact that there was no third-quarter collapse or that this team did not let go of the rope.
