The Los Angeles Lakers season thus far has been extremely disappointing, to say the least. At the time of writing this, the Lakers have a losing record and have some ugly losses. Whether it be the blowout loss to the Boston Celtics or ugly losses to teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves, it has been bad.

This is supposed to be an NBA Championship contender and this team looks nothing like a contender. While LeBron James and several rotation players were injured, the Lakers should still be playing better than they are.

Heck, the Lakers have had the sixth-easiest schedule in the NBA thus far and they are 8-9. The purple and gold ranks 25th in the league in Basketball-Reference’s Simple Rating System, right behind the San Antonio Spurs and ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Let’s dive into those disappointing players.
