The Los Angeles Lakers have been extremely disappointing this season and while a lot of the blame has been put on Frank Vogel, the real blame should be on Rob Pelinka for trading for Russell Westbrook in the offseason.

It is not even Russell Westbrook’s fault really. When the trade happen it smelled of desperation as Westbrook’s playstyle did not seem like a fit with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. No other team in the league wanted to trade for Westbrook yet the Lakers were willing to send assets to Washington for him.

The Lakers have realized the mistakes of their ways and have had internal conversations about moving on from Westbrook and trading him at some point in the future. The problem is that there are not many suitors that make sense for Westbrook, with only two coming to mind that actually make sense.

It is going to be hard to the Los Angeles Lakers to trade Russell Westbrook, but if they do, it will be a godsend.

I know that any Russell Westbrook fans reading this will not be happy with this take but quite frankly, trading Russell Westbrook would be the best thing that the Lakers could do this season. For those that might not agree, let’s break down the three reasons why.
