3 reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers firing Frank Vogel would be asinine

The Los Angeles Lakers have not had the kind of season that the team was hoping for as the Lakers have hovered around .500 basketball and have failed to put any sort of momentum together. This is a team that was the bonafide favorite in the Western Conference and now there are at least five teams that seem to have a better chance than the Lakers.

Not all hope is lost in Los Angeles but the team might already be looking to make a change at the head coaching spot. Head coach Frank Vogel has been under fire from the fanbase all season long and now that fire has emerged under his chair to put him on the hot seat.

According to Sam Amick and Bill Oram of The Athletic, Frank Vogel’s job is in jeopardy and is being evaluated on a game-by-game basis.

The Los Angeles Lakers firing Frank Vogel would be asinine.

Look, I know Frank Vogel has had some bad moments. His rotations have been questionable at times and he definitely could have done a better job this season. However, is his performance fireable? Not in the slightest.

I know that I am in the minority here as there has to be a scapegoat if a team struggles and the head coach is usually the first person that fans, media and the organization points at. However, when the dust settles down the line, chances are the Lakers are going to regret firing Vogel (if they do) and realize that it was a short-sighted mistake.

Let’s dive into the three reasons why firing Frank Vogel would be asinine.
