Possible Frank Vogel replacement for the Los Angeles Lakers: Rick Carlisle

Probably the most unlikely of the head coaches on this list but hear me out.

When Carlisle signed up for the Indiana Pacers head coaching job, this past off-season, he must have felt pretty good about his roster.

An All-Star forward in Sabonis, an elite rim protector in Myles Turner, an excellent defensive combo guard in Malcolm Brogdon, a young promising rookie in Chris Duarte, and numerous other exciting pieces such as Caris LeVert, TJ Warren, and Jeremy Lamb.

Fast forward to today and the Pacers are looking to blow the entire squad up with nobody being safe from the Axe.

Either Rick Carlisle is directly involved in the restructuring of the roster or this is not the job he signed up for.

MUST-READ: 3 horrible trade mistakes the Lakers must avoid making

Can the Los Angeles Lakers give the Pacers a 1st round pick for Carlisle and allow him to come to the Lakers this Summer? It would be very difficult but not impossible.

Rick Carlisle for the longest time has been considered one of the best head coaches in the National Basketball Association.

The work he did for the Dallas Mavericks, year in and year out to make them a contender and eventually beat the LeBron James-led Miami Heat has to be considered one of the most impressive Championship runs in recent NBA history.

Put him on the same side as LeBron James and Anthony Davis and let’s see what Carlisle and LeBron can do together.

There is no point in delving too deep into the weeds with his philosophies as this is an unlikely scenario but when you speak about the best Coaches in basketball the likes of Steve Kerr, Gregg Popovich, Quinn Snyder, Nick Nurse, Eric Spoelstra along with Rick Carlisle get brought up.
