The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

The big man matchup in the middle lived up to its billing but the “others” was the difference!

Anthony Davis didn’t win the one-on-one matchup over Joel Embiid, he basically embarrassed him. He scored on him, he dunked on him and blocked multiple shots. Embiid got lit up by AD when it comes to stats in the box score.

But basketball is a team game folks!

Joel’s teammates really came in waves to supplement Embiid’s off night (For him anyway!).

  • Tobias Harris finished with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
  • Tyrese Maxey finished with 14 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds.
  • Matisse Thybulle and Furkan Korkmaz both knocked down their shots while defending very well.
  • The Sixers bench seemingly couldn’t miss!

To put this in perspective, the superstar shot one of the worse percentages and the Lakers still struggled big time!  Outside of Russell Westbrook (More on him in a second!) and AD’s explosion, the Lakers’ offense was in a toilet. No one got in double figures for the Lake Show.

The Los Angeles Lakers and their fanbase needs to support Russell Westbrook or just trade him…this is getting ridiculous!

Raise your hand if you are tired of the back and forth with Russell Westbrook? The situation is getting toxic and this will destroy the future of this franchise.

Stop releasing stories of who wanted Russell Westbrook and who didn’t. Now Rob Pelinka was super ceded by LeBron James and Anthony Davis now according to Marc Stein?

"“Rob Pelinka wanted to and planned to trade for Buddy Hield but James & Davis encouraged him to go after Westbrook.”"

Or about this John Wall deal being held up because the Lakers have given up to many assets to get Russ?

"Yet there are also major optics concerns for the Lakers. Team officials, sources say, do not want to pay a premium to move on from Westbrook so soon after the Lakers gave up so much to get the Los Angeles native. Remember: They had to send Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and the No. 22 pick in last July’s draft to Washington after James and Davis encouraged the Lakers’ front office to go all-in for Westbrook rather than proceed with GM Rob Pelinka’s plans to trade for Sacramento’s Buddy Hield."

These reports are just in the last 48 hours…add that to all of the other drama that has surrounded his benching of 3:52 of the Indiana game that was felt around the world.

The Los Angeles Lakers have not supported Russell Westbrook enough to depend on him in the future. Give him credit for his stat line of 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Those same players listed above struggled even worse dealing with what Russ is dealing with now.

The Lakers used to speak out for their teammates and show solidarity. KCP scored 1 point in his first two games in the past and Alex Caruso and Dwight Howard took to social media to defend him against the fans. Where’s that now?

Watch Lake Show Life’s smoke. The Lakers need Russ more than Russ needs the Lakers. If this franchise does not find a way to show loyalty to this guy, here’s the list of things that will happen.

  • They won’t sniff the second round of the playoffs.
  • Russ will shut down.
  • He’ll go rogue and get his own numbers outside of the offense!
  • There will be an explosion in the locker room that with divide it.
  • He will stop listening to Frank Vogel (If he hasn’t already!).
  • He will demand to be traded…kind of like the Ben Simmons situation.
  • The Lakers will be paying a disgruntled superstar $47 million on top of the $44 million this season for the experience.

A message from Lake Show Life to Lakers Nation. Russ is here to stay…get over it and make it work!
