What do the Los Angeles Lakers want? No. 18. How far away are they from reaching that right now? Pretty far. The trade deadline is five days away and there are a few NBA champions on the trade block that could give the Lakers an extra boost.

Due to Los Angeles’ poor performance this season, the team has been linked to several trade candidates. The Lakers are at risk of not making the play-in tournament and need to be active ahead of the deadline.

Last year’s first-round exit against the Suns was extremely disappointing, yet now it feels like making it to that point would require a miracle. It would help to have another face on the roster that knows what it takes to win a title.

Numerous trade rumors are swirling around the NBA right now. There are current players on Los Angeles’ roster that the team is looking to trade as well as available players on the market that the Lakers should avoid altogether.

We know what a healthy LeBron James and Anthony Davis are capable of accomplishing and although the current state of the team is discouraging, it’s still hard to count that duo out. It’s obvious that they need help though.

Rob Pelinka needs to redeem himself after the questionable offseason moves that Los Angeles made. Perhaps trading for one of these three NBA champions would help Pelinka to fix his tarnished record.
