The Los Angeles Lakers decided to stand pat at the 2022 NBA trade deadline and the front office is now going to shift its focus towards the buyout market. While it might be disappointing to some fans that the Lakers did not make a trade, there are some decent buyout candidates that the Lakers could target.

The Lakers need more than just some buyout signings, though. Frank Vogel’s rotations have not been great all season and the team has to make some changes as it moves ahead towards the playoffs. LA cannot do the same thing over and over again and expect the same results and the rotation needs a big shake-up.

These shake-ups could occur after the Lakers bring in some buyout players as these players will eat up some of the rotation minutes and they have to be taken from somewhere. Regardless, one thing is clear.

There are three players on the Los Angeles Lakers roster whose minutes need to be slashed.

Even if the Lakers do not sign someone to directly take minutes away, the team should still tweak things and take away minutes from certain players on the roster. If the Lakers are going to improve they have to make changes and make them quick, regardless of who it might offend.

Let’s dive into the three Lakers who should see their minutes getting slashed moving forward.
