The Los Angeles Lakers finally got back in the win column on Saturday night with a 124-116 win over the Golden State Warriors. LeBron James put the entire team on his back as he had his best regular-season game in years with 56 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

This felt like a statement from LeBron James to the doubters. Many have rightfully doubted the Lakers this season — and one win shouldn’t change that — and this was a message. He can still be the best player in the world on any given night… and it is not his fault.

The ESPN broadcast brought up a great point that this is LeBron’s way of saying that it is not his fault that the Lakers are playing so poorly. While LeBron mostly just wants to win, that probably factors in as well.

Regardless, Lakers Twitter was having a great time with the masterclass from LeBron James.

It is really hard to watch a Lakers game and have fun this season, making this game so rare. Add in the fact that it came against the second-best team in the Western Conference in primetime and Laker fans were feeling themselves.

Some fans pointed out the fact that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was in attendance for this game. LeBron has a thing for going off when Rams are watching the Lakers in person. The last time that the Lakers won a game was when Aaron Donald was in attendance.

Rams players need to come out to every Lakers game for the rest of the season.

Some pointed out the fact that there were some clamoring for a LeBron James trade in the summer. Heck, we even put together a piece that outlined what a LeBron James trade could possibly look like.

Even if LeBron doesn’t sign an extension this offseason, games like these are going to keep the Lakers from ever considering a LeBron James trade unless he outright forces his way out of LA.

Laker fans shouldn’t get overly excited for this win, though. It is great that the team got a big win over the second-best team in the Western Conference but we are a far way from saying that the Lakers are the team that the Warriors “don’t want to see in the playoffs”.

It was one game and it took LeBron 56 points for the team to barely beat the Warriors without Draymond Green. It was a great, fun game, but the team needs to prove more.
