The Los Angeles Lakers were back on national television to play the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night. LeBron James was coming off a 50 point performance Friday night against the Washington Wizards. Well, LeBron James didn’t score 50 in this game which is the only winning formula of the Lakers at this point. If you need a visual of how this night went, press play…

The Los Angeles Lakers were up 6-2 in the first quarter to start the game. Then something happened…

  • The Phoenix Suns went on a 25-5 run to blow the lead to 27-11.
  • Frank Vogel called three timeouts in the first 12 minutes of the game.
  • By the end of the first quarter, the Lakers were down 48-22.
  • By halftime, the Lakers gave up 79 points.
  • Then after an alleged spirited halftime looking for defensive adjustments, the Lake Show gave up another 40 points in the third quarter.
  • Every Suns player on the roster scored with seven in double figures!
  • We could go on…but why?

The team Charles Barkley calls “That team from Southern California” got waxed by the Phoenix Suns, 140-111.

To Los Angeles Lakers fans that have supported analysis from Lake Show Life, the gratitude is massive because it’s humbling to have your eyes and time for the last four years, but there’s no more analysis for this. This is a bad team with a superstar chasing stats and doing his very best to show that this is not his fault.

The good from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:

LeBron James kept the NBA scoring lead…which is the only thing LeBron, ESPN and LeBron fans care about at this point!

The last few post-game report has brought out a few folks that think that all of these stats tend to amount to anything with the Lakers getting run out of every NBA gym unless LeBron scores 50 or more. Okay, here’s yet an NBA record for LeBron James. He passed the 10,000 assist mark to become the only player in NBA history with 30,000+ points, 10,000+ rebounds and 10,000+ assists.

LeBron finished with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

Reminder: The Phoenix Suns blew out the Los Angeles Lakers 140-111.

This is going to be a classic comment section if the New Orleans Pelicans drop these guys in the play-in tournament. Boy, it’s going to be fun setting up this matchup with David Grubb in a few weeks!

Thank God for Carmelo Anthony or this writer might have quit!

Despite the chaos that is this Los Angeles Lakers season, it has been a joy to watch Carmelo Anthony play. Look, his knees are shot and he has a bad back, but just to see this guy try on the basketball court is so nice to see.

Like Frank Vogel thought it was a good idea to play him at center against a team with three seven-foot centers. Let that set in. But despite all of that, he still gets buckets old-school style.

Melo finished with 18 points on 6-11 shooting!

The game ended…

Nuff said.
