The Los Angeles Lakers are playing some pretty uninspiring basketball right now.

Effort levels vary, injuries continue to be a large part of what has defined the purple and golds season and it feels like the purple and gold are limping to the All-Star Break hoping that some much-needed rest can allow for them to regroup and figure out what the hell is going on for a team that is meant to be a title contender.

While Russell Westbrook continues to show flashes, the Lakers simply haven’t built a team that is conducive to him succeeding.

Westbrook thrives when there are 4 other shooters on the floor and a big man who creates gravity that allows for Westbrook to attack the rim at will.

While the Lakers do have the big man that creates gravity, they most certainly do not have shooters that will create the necessary floor spacing that will allow for the Lakers to be successful with Russ.

All-Star break seems like the perfect time for the Los Angeles Lakers to press the reset button on the Westbrook experiment and build a team around LeBron James and Anthony Davis that puts them in the best position to be successful.

At this time, it is best for Russell Westbrook to find another team that is more suited to his skillset and where he can thrive.

Russell Westbrook isn’t a third option on any team, but there is a team that he could go to right now and be the number 2 guy and potentially put said team over the top.

Here is a blockbuster trade that gets Russell Westbrook off the Los Angeles Lakers.
