Washington Wizards: Ish Smith

The Los Angeles Lakers made one of the worst trades in franchise history with the Washington Wizards last summer so they may have no intentions of doing any sort of business with the Wizards. However, even before the Westbrook deal there have been trades between LA and D.C., so there seems to be some sort of connection.

The Lakers are not going to get back any of the players they traded for Westbrook and the cost-controlled, young role players are going to stay in Washington as well. As a result, the only player that Washington may part ways with is Ish Smith.

Smith is not the most talented player in the NBA but he does come at an extremely cheap price and would give the team a backup point guard. LA had to sign D.J. Augustin to do that this season and Smith is certainly better than Augustin.

The veteran point guard can facilitate a bit and can also hit his threes at a decent rate. He is someone who could come off the bench and play 10 minutes when Westbrook if off the court while also being a point guard who fits next to LeBron James as he is not ball-dominant.

He is not the greatest defender, either, but he is a lot better than the guards that are currently on the roster.
