1. Fire Rob Pelinka (and probably Frank Vogel, too)

It seems like a foregone conclusion at this point that the Los Angeles Lakers will fire Frank Vogel this offseason. Many Laker fans have been clamoring for this move and after such a disappointing season, it is really hard to run it back with Vogel.

Personally, I do not think it will make much of a difference on how the team plays. While Vogel was far from perfect this season, the issues with the team did not start with Vogel and a new head coach likely won’t fix those problems.

If this was a young team that is trying to find its footing and develop then yes, getting the right head coach is imperative. But for a veteran team that doesn’t seem to care much in the regular season anyway, a new head coach won’t do much.

In a perfect world, the Lakers would part ways with Rob Pelinka. This probably won’t happen as Pelinka seems to be really close to Jeanie Buss but he has shown his true colors as a poor general manager over the last two seasons.

Not only have the decisions been bad by Pelinka, but the inside intel around him has been absolutely horrible. Previous comments from other executives painted Pelinka in a horrible light and the Lakers will not win another championship if he continues to operate the way that he does.
